The Farley City Council met Monday, February 18, 2008, 7:00PM at City Hall.

Mayor Einwalter presiding.  All present.

Agenda approved upon motion.

Dave Schneider was present regarding property that he is in the process of purchasing.  The property has a vacated alley from the 1920’s which there is no record of a deed being recorded.  Schneider relayed that he needs a deed on the vacated alley from the city.

Motion Jarding, second Kramer to sell vacated alley of 198 linear feet in the amount of $396.00 plus all costs incurred with sale and recording of the alley described as Lot 1A of Block 35 of the Original Town of Farley, Dubuque, Iowa, to Schneider.  Five ayes.

Council reviewed a Retracement Plat of Survey of property described as Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Simon’s 4th Addition, which is the city shop. 

Nick Simon of the Farley Young Men’s Association was present for discussion of the Commercial Club.  Item to be on next agenda.

Council reviewed rules of Memorial Hall rent.

Motion Norton, second Scherrman to accept rules for renting Memorial Hall with handing out the list to renters. Five ayes.

Police Report received and filed.

Motion Jarding, second Scherrman to approve consent agenda with pulling 2/07/08 minutes.  Approved were minutes of 2/4/08, 2/5/08, January Clerk’s and Treasure’s Reports showing receipt by fund as follows:  General $43129.09, Road Use 11027.82. TIF 3014.65, Debt Service 683.18, Water & Trust 17512.57 and Sewer 21701.02.  Five ayes.

Jarding requested additional information be added to a paragraph of 2/07/08 minutes. 

Motion Kramer, second Hefel to accept minutes of 2/07/08 as written.  Kramer, Hefel, Scherrman, Norton, aye.  Jarding nay.  Motion carried.

Council reviewed proposed budget. 

Motion Kramer, second Scherrman to accept budget for fiscal year 08/09 with changing library expenditure.  Five ayes.

Motion Jarding, second Hefel to set date for public hearing on proposed budget for March 3, 2008, 7:00PM at City Hall.  Five ayes.
