The Farley City Council met Monday, February 4, 2008, 7:00PM at City Hall.  Mayor Pro-tem Kramer presiding.  All council present.

 

Agenda approved upon motion.

 

Nick Simon and a few members of the Farley Young Mens Association were present to discuss possible interest in taking over the Commercial Club.

 

Deputy Clerk Jennifer Simon relayed to council that she is interested in assuming the duties of the Commercial Club but has no desire to carry the dram shop insurance and liquor license in her name.

 

Council will get information on duties and responsibilities associated with Commercial Club, liquor license and insurance for more discussion.

 

Clerk relayed to council estimated insurance costs regarding ambulances, equipment, liability and work comp coverage.  Clerk to find out more information on cost pertaining to EMT’s which also hold firemen status and paramedics.

 

Public Works Director Link relayed to council that a DNR inspection was completed at the wastewater treatment facility and will receive a report in a few weeks. He stated that it may be a year before the city receives their wastewater permit and reminded council that the survey needed to be completed for the disinfection station grant should be done as soon as possible as he received word that all cities will need to be in compliance of disinfection standards.

 

Link discussed property area at the city shop. He stated that another property owner is utilizing city property and would like permission to contact surveyor to locate exact property lines.  Council agreed for Link to contact surveyor.

 

Memorial Hall rent and deposit for giving out key was discussed.  A list will be put together regarding particulars to be addressed at a future meeting. 

 

Motion Hefel, second Scherrman to approve consent agenda.  Approved were minutes of previous meetings 1/21/08, 1/30/08 and bills as presented.  Five ayes.

 

Council worked on budget and agreed they would like to support the literacy program the Telegraph Herald is endorsing.
