Farley City Council met Wednesday, January 30, 2008, 6:00PM at City Hall.  Mayor Einwalter presiding.  All present. Purpose of the meeting was to work on budget.

Agenda approved upon motion.

Tom Sharkey of Solutions Management Group gave a presentation on an office assessment of city hall and ways to reduce costs.  Sharkey gave recommendations to include offering technology, services and software under a 60 month lease in the amount of $610.87.

Council discussed telephone charges ending in Hefel to get information on cell phones.

Council discussed contracting out for mowing services.  Kramer to get information on services.

Wages for the new budget year was discussed.

Motion Hefel to raise Public Works Superintendent wage $1.38 plus an additional $500 in insurance coverage.   Motion died for lack of a second.

Motion Kramer to raise PW Superintendent wage $1.00 and $500 additional insurance coverage.  Second Norton.  Kramer, Norton, Jarding, Scherrman ayes.  Hefel nay.  Motion carried.

Motion Kramer to raise Maintenance Director wage $1.00 and $500 in additional insurance coverage.  Second Scherrman.  Kramer, Scherrman, Norton, Hefel ayes.  Jarding nay.  Motion carried.

Motion Hefel to give Police Chief a 4% increase in wage with $500 additional insurance coverage.  Second Kramer.  Hefel, Kramer, Scherrman, Norton ayes.  Jarding nay.  Motion carried.

Motion Kramer to give City Clerk a 4% increase in wage with $500 additional insurance coverage.  Second Scherrman.  Kramer, Scherrman, Jarding, Norton ayes.  Hefel nay.  Motion carried.

Motion Kramer to give Deputy Clerk a 4% increase in wage.  Second Scherrman.  Kramer, Scherrman, Jarding, Norton ayes.  Hefel nay.  Motion carried.
